Why Tri State Moving
Residential only. That's the whole job.
We don't split our crews between offices, warehouses and homes. Every truck we send is set up for houses and apartments — padded blankets, floor runners, door guards, wardrobe boxes and the extra hands that narrow stairwells demand.
Every piece of furniture is blanket-wrapped and stretch-wrapped before it leaves the room — on every move, not as an upsell.
Floors, stair rails and door frames are protected before the first item moves, so the home you're leaving stays in the condition you promised.
Boxes are labelled by room and unpacking priority, so the new kitchen opens first and the garage can wait.
One assigned crew from pickup to delivery. No relay, no handoffs, no strangers halfway through your move.

How it works
Four steps, no guesswork
You'll know the crew size, the timing and the price before we lift anything — and who to call if something changes.
- 01
Tell us about the move
Send the quote form or call. We ask for your pickup and delivery addresses, moving date and a rough room count.
- 02
Get a written estimate
We confirm crew size, truck, timing and price in writing so you know exactly what move day looks like.
- 03
We pack and load
Floors protected, furniture wrapped, boxes labelled by room. Everything is secured before the truck leaves.
- 04
Delivered and placed
We unload, reassemble beds and tables, and place boxes where you want them at the new home.
Long-distance residential
Moving out of the tri-state — or into it?
Long-distance moves don't fail on the highway. They fail at the handoff. We load, drive and unload with the same assigned crew, confirm the delivery window in writing, and keep your household on one truck instead of a relay between terminals.

Questions
Moving questions, answered
Straight answers about pricing, timing and what a residential move with us actually looks like across our 86 service areas.
What does a residential move cost?
Price depends on the size of your home, how many crew members and trucks are needed, the distance between addresses and how much packing you want us to handle. We look at all of it up front, give you a written estimate before move day, and work from that number instead of adding line items later.
Do you move offices or commercial spaces?
No — Tri State Moving is a residential moving company only. Every crew, truck and schedule we run is built around households: houses, townhomes, apartments, condos and long-distance home relocations. If you need a business relocated, we are not the right fit.
How far in advance should I book my move?
Two to four weeks is comfortable for most local moves. End-of-month weekends, summer and the first week of any month fill up fastest, so if your date is fixed, reach out as soon as you have it. Short-notice moves are sometimes possible — call and ask.
Do you provide a written estimate?
Yes. You get the crew size, truck, timing and price in writing before move day. If something about your home changes — a garage full of stored furniture, a piano, an extra flight of stairs — tell us early so the estimate stays accurate.
Are my belongings protected during the move?
Every piece of furniture is blanket-wrapped and stretch-wrapped before it leaves your home, and floors, stair rails and door frames are protected before anything moves. We carry insurance and can send a certificate of insurance to your building or property manager when they ask for one.
Do you pack, or should I?
Either works. Many customers pack the easy rooms and hand us the kitchen, closets and fragile items. If you'd rather not pack at all, we bring boxes, paper, tape and labels and pack the whole home. Unpacking and box removal are available at the other end.
